Freezer Tip

If you are away from the cottage and don't have a back up generator, pop an ice cube out of the tray and leave it in a plastic dish in the freezer before you leave.  When you return, if the ice cube has changed shape, then the power has been out long enough that frozen food may have started to thaw while you were away.
