The Muskoka Watershed Council is offering a demonstration of how they sample for underwater critters (benthic invertebrates), as they are indicators of water quality. Cassie Weston from Muskoka Watershed Council will be using nets to collect bugs and she will need some help from Wood Lakers!  This will likely involve kids mucking around in the shallow, sandy lake bottom to collect samples, then sifting through samples to see what kind of species there are. This is a great activity for those aspiring scientists and just plain curious kids!
