Winner of the Wood Lake Logo Contest
As mentioned in an email to members, are pleased to announce the winner of the Wood Lake Cottagers Association Logo Contest. After careful consideration of several excellent submissions, a winner was selected: Miranda Allum. Her family has had a cottage on Wood Lake for many years, as have her grandparents the Rebmans, and her aunt and uncle the Molliets. In fact, an interesting piece of Wood Lake history is that Miranda’s great, great, great grandparents were the original settlers on Wood Lake in 1879.
We were fortunate to have James Cooper and Sean Buckley of Buck Productions (Sean is also a Wood Lake Cottager) to curate the competition. Buck Productions is a leading content creation company successful in feature films, television, documentaries, commercials, and branded content. Considered one of the most diverse production houses in North America for more than 15 years, owner and CEO Sean Buckley has cultivated a concept-first culture, where ideas and end product are paramount. Buck Productions has been honoured as one of the most influential, inspirational, and world leading production companies multiple times on Realscreen’s Global 100 list.
Sean had the following to say about Miranda’s design: "There were several great submissions. We really felt that the simplicity of Miranda's imagery was perfect for representing the lifestyle WLCA promotes. We believe that this logo will take WLCA forward into its bright future."
Miranda is currently enrolled in a Graphic Design program at Humber College.
The new Logo is being launched in conjunction with our 65th anniversary. We will also be finalizing an icon which is also being worked on by Miranda. You will begin to see these images used on our website and in correspondence. This is the fifth Logo in our lake’s history.
We would like to thank all of those who took their time to share their creative talents and contribute to the competition. We would also like to thank Sean Buckley and James Cooper at Buck Productions
