Approximately one month ago a group of young men in a boat approached our cottage about an hour or so after we left on a Sunday afternoon. Unknown to them,our neighbours were still there. After an exclamation of "Oh **** someone is still here" they took off. Our neighbour followed them in his boat, but was unable to find out where they were from.
Just this past weekend we came up to discover that 6 of our solar powered dock lights were missing. These lights are low profile solar lights, but very bright. They did however leave the ones at end of the dock intact! Whoever took them would have had to have brought a screw driver or drill to remove them. As we are on an island, it would have only been accessible by water unless someone from the island took them. We only had them on the dock since May. Our neighbours also had some of their garden solar lights stolen as well.
We are just wondering if you noticed any of YOUR neighbours are now sporting some new low profile lights (if they have the audacity to show them off!).. If so, please let us know and we would love to have a chat with them!
If any of you are having the same problem or would like to report a theft or suspicious event in your area, please let me know. I am more than willing to spread the word. We all have to play a part in keeping our cottages safe and secure.
